Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge! For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6. November 10: Genealogy Workshop. Join us every 2nd Monday for our Genealogy Workshop Series, co-hosted by the Danville Public Library Archives and the Illiana Genealogical & Historical Society. November’s session focuses on “Tell the Story… Getting Family Interested – Especially the Younger Generation”, with tips to make family history engaging for young adults. 1:00 – 2:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
November 10: Mid-Day Movie – Which Witch Week. Follow a young girl on a whirlwind journey down a colorful road to self-discovery, friendship, and, eventually, home. 2:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
November 11: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: Break a record. Choose a Guinness World Record and try to break it. 5:00 PM in the Program Room. Ages 8-12.
November 11: Wee Wigglers Story Time – Which Witch Week. Enjoy stories with costumed guest readers – perfect for little witches and wizards! For children ages 5 and under. 10:00 am in the Program Room.
November 12: Mid-Day Movie – Which Witch Week. Ease on down to the Library to enjoy a musical adventure where you’ll learn to believe in yourself and feel the brand-new day! 2:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
November 12: Teen Crafternoons. Stop by on Wednesday afternoons for an hour of fun, hands-on craft. This week: Scarecrow Wooden Spoons! No registration needed, just bring your creativity and hang out! 4:00 – 5:00 PM on the 2nd Floor. Ages 13-19.
November 12: Teen Writing Club. Come write, chill, and connect. No pressure – just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. Journals and pens will be provided for our teen writers, along with writing prompts and snacks to fuel your mind. Every Wednesday, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
November 12: Ukulele Music Club. Join the Ukulele Music Club every 2nd Wednesday for beginner basics at 5 PM and a group jam session at 6 PM – both welcoming all skill levels! Bring your own uke or borrow one of our limited extras and enjoy making music together. The club may even perform around the community! November 12: Wordy Wednesdays. Puzzle lovers, mark your calendars! Every Wednesday, head on up to the 2nd floor Reference Desk for a variety of word puzzles. Available anytime during our regular business hours.
November 13: Theatre Thursday Musical Karaoke – Which Witch Week. Everyone deserves a chance to…try! All ages welcome to sing your favorite show tunes – witchy or not! 5:00 PM in the Program Room
November 14: Movie Sing-Along and Costume Contest – Which Witch Week. Show up in your Witchy Best for a Costume Contest! Then watch a movie of two witches defying the odds in a powerful tale of friendship and conflict. Dance through life and sing-along! 5:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
November 15: Bilingual Family Fun! Join Cecilia Perez and her family for a festive Thanksgiving-themed family dance class! Celebrate the season with joyful movement, music, and gratitude. November 15: Family Reading Pajama Party! We will have stories, crafts, snacks, and therapy dogs! Wear your jammies and bring along your favorite stuffy for this fun family reading event. 11:00 AM in the Children’s Department.
November 15: Lit Fit with Mandy. Join us Saturdays for a dance fitness series that’s as fun as your favorite book. All fitness levels welcome – just bring your water bottle and wear clothes that can handle your best moves! 2:30 – 3:30 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
November 15: Novel November Meet-Up. Every November, writers around the world challenge themselves to finish their current works – and we’re here to support that journey! Local authors are invited to gather every Saturday this month to write, network, and check in with fellow creatives in a safe, supportive space. 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the Garman Room.
Adult Craft: Stop by the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor for a take & make craft! Enjoy November’s Pumpkin Pegboard Sting Art. While supplies last.
