Danville District 118 has announced via their Facebook page, in a letter also sent to District 118 families, that school will be in session tomorrow; Tuesday, November 4th. Students were dismissed starting at 8:45 this (Monday, November 3rd) morning after a general threat about a “school shooting at 10 AM” (according to a Danville Police release) was received via phone.
District 118’s statement said there is “no confirmed danger” on any District 118 campuses; but that Monday’s precautionary step was taken “while authorities could conduct a full investigation.”
A statement from Danville Police stated that leads are being explored to try and determine who made the call; and they ask anyone with information to call 217-431-2250, or Vermilion County Crime stoppers at 217-446-TIPS (8477).
District 118 also stated that a police presence and counseling availability will exist at all District 118 schools on Tuesday.
