THE FOLLOWING IS A CITY OF DANVILLE RELEASE
Danville, 10/31/2025 – The City of Danville is excited to announce a mini park tour next Thursday, November 6th, to celebrate the completion of several renovation and restoration projects.
Community members are invited to join city officials and staff as they unveil the new features and recognize the city’s conƟnued commitment to park enhancement and neighborhood revitalization. Each stop will include comments from Mayor Williams, the Aldermen represeting that area, and representives of the neighborhood about the projects and what they mean for the community.
The first stop will be Elmwood Park at 10 a.m., where improvements include:
Improved meeting building and restrooms.
New, modern play structure and swings designed for children of all ages.
A fully reconstructed basketball court with new asphalt, fresh striping, upgraded fencing, and hoops to enhance play and safety.
The second stop will be Cannon Park at 10:45 a.m., where improvements include:
A complete court replacement, with striping for both tennis and pickleball, as well as new lighting and fencing.
The addition of a mounted basketball hoop for half-court basketball.
Fresh goals added to the side fencing for hockey and soccer fun.
The final stop will be at Lincoln Park at 11:30 a.m., where improvements include:
Upgrades and refreshing of concession stand and restrooms
Tuckpointing and new landscaping for the historic pavilion
Demolition of dilapidated courts and installation of 2 resurfaced basketball courts featuring all new lighting and fencing
Major upgrades to Friendly Town, including the demolition of the old classroom and the construction of a new one
Patching of the Friendly Town parking lot for better access until it is completely redone next year.
Soon to come: additional repairs to playground equipment
