The new Ollie’s Bargain Outlet store in Danville was ready to roll Wednesday (Nov 5th) morning, with a 9 AM opening. Plenty of customers were outside waiting in the autumn sun well before 8:30. A couple of the waiting consumers were Richard and Robert, both of Westville
AUDIO: (Richard and Steve) Richard, why are you here; why are you here early? Looking at big deals we can get for real cheap prices. Have you been to one before? No, I’ve never been to one. Alright, so you’re looking forward to seeing what they’ve got. Right, yes I am. (Robert and Steve) Robert from Westville, why are you so looking forward to Ollie’s opening? Well, I’ve never been to an Ollie’s. I’m trying to compare it to Costco and Sam’s Club in Champaign. What go to Champaign if you can get the same good prices here? So, you’re here to learn, aren’t you? Yes, comparison shopping and prices. Alright, good luck to you……thank you….

District manager Lisa Heck said a soft opening last week helped get about 45 employees ready for the big day.
AUDIO: We have a wide variety of everything. We have a ton of toys. We try to do 70% lower than that average retailer. We have just about everything; carpet, house goods, a little bit of furniture, Christmas, “as seen on TV,” domestics, housewares, food, health and beauty; so just a variety of stuff.

The Danville Ollie’s location is 20 North Gilbert Street.
