People v. Myron Wright 2019-CF-656
On October 30, 2025, Myron Wright (DOB: 2/11/1983), formerly of Danville, Illinois, pleaded guilty to Methamphetamine, a class X felony, and was sentenced to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Following his term of imprisonment, Wright will serve 18 months of mandatory supervised release. The plea and sentencing were presided over by Judge Karen Wall.
The People presented evidence that on November 14, 2019, agents with the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group observed an individual they knew to be Myron Wright enter a vehicle by the back passenger side door. Police subsequently conducted a traffic stop for a violation of the Illinois Vehicle Code and two baggies containing suspected methamphetamine were found where Wright had been seated. The substance had a total weight of over 33 grams and field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Additional testing was completed by the Illinois State Police Crime Lab and results were positive for methamphetamine. During the investigation,
law enforcement conducted interviews of the other occupants in the vehicle and they admitted that just before the vehicle was stopped by police, they had given Wright $100.00 United States Currency in an attempt to purchase the methamphetamine.
