PotterFest comes once a year in Danville, for the month of November First Fridays event. And this year, with the changing of the clocks having already happened; darkness moved in quicker; and it seemed that the imaginations of everyone did as well.

From the wedding scene staging at the Danville Public Library, to the Vermilion County War Museum next door handing out maps and scavenger hunt lists, to the Deathly Hallows themed evening all through downtown; costumed participants of all ages were there.

One of the first time costumed participants was Lori from Savoy; convinced by her boyfriend to join the fun.
AUDIO: (Lori) I have only seen the movies a few times, but he was super excited when he showed me it, and we decided to come……..(Jamie) I’d have to say since elementary school, since I read all the books and watched all the movies. And Harry PotterFest is just a really good event to just get out and have some fun.

Sara from Bloomington was a first time visitor, attending with Anderson from Danville.
AUDIO: (What brought you to PotterFest) Sara: I Like Harry Potter…I’ve got some goodies; and yep, the vibes are great! (Are you becoming a Harry Potter fan because of this?) Anderson: Sure, we’re working on it, I need to re-watch the movies!

Elizabeth, a Danville native, said PotterFest is a great way for kids and adults alike to just have a great time.
AUDIO: I just love how everybody comes together, and they’re able to be their true geeky selves; and have a lot of fun and celebrate magic, and imagination and play.

And this year, PotterFest continues to Saturday the 8th; with activities Noon to 5 PM in Temple Plaza.
