Area residents ran and walked the 5K course heading north from the Legion to raised close to $11,000 for the American Legion’s Veterans services. Besides the 5K run, the Legion served a free chili dinner for participants and a silent auction which raised $1600. Michael Remole from Gateway Family Services was the guest speaker.

State Representative Brandun Schweizer greeted the racers with dog tags at the finish line. Schlarman Academy Student Council and FPS team organized a group of 10 runners and the Danville High JROTC program volunteered to help guide runners on the race route.

High school student, Steven Hendrixson from Marshall IL broke the course record winning the race in a time of 18:24.4 Terra Troglia was first place for the ladies.
