WESTVILLE — Entering Tiger Country along Illinois 1, reminders of how crazed this community is about its high school football team are everywhere.
Like the signs in the windows of Latoz Hardware, encouraging Westville’s unbeaten Tigers ahead of Saturday’s IHSA quarterfinal against ALAH.
“Everybody’s all geared up,” said Dee Latoz, who owns the store with her brother, Vic. “It’s a big football town.”
Students in the Art Club created artwork that is on display at Latoz Hardware and about 20 other windows in town.
Students spent four hours on a recent Sunday hand-painting windows. During school, they produced signs and banners and delivered them to more businesses.
