Indiana State Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal motorcycle crash which occurred Sunday afternoon in Fountain County. An Indiana State Trooper observed a northbound motorcycle on U. S. 41 near County Road 650 North traveling over 100 miles per hour according to radar. The trooper made a U-turn trying to stop the cycle but lost sight of it. Other area law enforcement agencies were alerted, and shortly thereafter the motorcycle sideswiped an Attica Police vehicle. State Police say the motorcycle continued into Attica where it failed to stop at an intersection and struck another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. But the rider of the motorcycle died after being transported to an area hospital.
The name of the person who died has not been released yet (as of late Monday) by the Fountain County Coroner.
Assisting at the scene were Indiana State Police, Attica and Williamsport Police, Fountain and Warren County Sheriff’s Departments, Attica Fire Department, Fountain County EMS, and the Fountain County Coroner’s Office.
