Danville, IL, December 1, 2025 – The Danville Symphony Orchestra (DSO) continues its 2025-26 season with a special holiday matinee performance of The Nutcracker in the Dick Van Dyke Auditorium.
On Sunday, December 7 at 2 pm, Maestro Matthew Sheppard will lead the DSO in an exciting, live performance of Tchaikovsky’s timeless Christmas classic. This concert will feature Von Heidecke’s Chicago Festival Ballet in their 35th anniversary performance of The Nutcracker and dancers from the Vermilion county community.
“Only here in Danville, The Nutcracker is one of those fabulous, one-of-a-kind opportunities of the holiday season where you get to see a live orchestra and a live ballet all together,” said Sheppard. “We can’t wait to share it with all of you.”
The Nutcracker is made possible by the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation. Tickets are still available for the Dec. 7 performance, with seats remaining on the main floor and balcony for $35 and $45. Students can buy tickets for $10.
