THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Danville, IL – On November 30, 2025, at approximately 6:40 PM, the Danville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Churchill Towers apartment building, located at 101 E. Seminary Street.
Initial responding units arrived to find heavy smoke coming from multiple windows on the 4th and 5th floors of the high-rise residential structure Fire units identified multiple residents at their windows who were unable to exit the building due to smoky conditions.
Firefighters and Police executed multiple coordinated rescues, removing a total of 32 residents from the upper floors. Crews completed two rescues using the aerial ladder, while others were made through interior stairwells during suppression and search operations.
Multiple ambulance services assisted with on-scene medical care and transport. At least two victims remain hospitalized, and their conditions are unknown currently.
Several residents have been temporarily displaced.

residents.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal. No further information is available currently. The Danville Fire Department will provide updates as the investigation continues.
