DANVILLE — Caring about and supporting the community where you live was important to Lois Wise.
Those who knew Wise through her roles with the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation and other boards say the community has lost a strong and wonderful woman.
Wise, who died last week at age 96, is being remembered for her charitable organization contributions.
Wise had a close-knit group of friends who were like family to her and whom she called her “peeps.”
One of those couples was Gary and Doris Resh of Danville.
“It felt like we were all family,” Gary Resh said.
