DANVILLE — A local affiliate of Sleep in Heavenly Peace has set a second Bed Build on Saturday to continue meeting community needs.
Twenty beds were built at an initial event, with about 40 delivered locally, and 80 more are expected to be built at Saturday’s event.
“It’s an amazing operation,” said Dee Ann Ryan of the assembly-line nature of these events.
Danville is currently an affiliate of the Mahomet chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
Local representatives are working on creating their own chapter through the Three Kings of Peace.
The Danville area still has 160 kids needing beds on a waiting list.
Ryan said they also need volunteers to build the beds for children in need.
