A news release from the Danville Police Department has announced a second arrest in the November 29th shooting death of 30 year old Tevin J. Patton of Joplin, Missouri. Police were called to Scooters Bar at 1114 E. Voorhees at 1:26 AM on the 29th in response to a report of shots fired. Patton was pronounced deceased at the scene; and later on the 29th Danville Police announced the arrest of 30 year old Trevon M Lake of Danville, booked on charges of First-Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
The new arrest came Monday afternoon (December 8th). At 12:48 PM, officers with the Danville Police Problem Oriented Policing (P.O.P.) Unit observed a 30 year old man they recognized as Jontrell J. Robinson of Chicago. Officers were aware that Robinson was wanted on an outstanding warrant, for First-Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, in connection with the November 29th shooting incident where Patton was pronounced deceased.
Robinson attempted to flee on foot; but was apprehended about five minutes later without incident, after attempting to hide in a nearby tree line.

Update — Arrest of Murder Suspect (12/8/2025):
On December 8, 2025, at approximately 12:48 p.m., officers with the Danville Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing (P.O.P.) Unit observed a 30-year-old male they recognized as Jontell J. Robinson, of Chicago. Officers were aware Robinson was wanted on an outstanding warrant for First-Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon in connection with the fatal shooting at Scooters Bar on 11/29/2025. Robinson was also wanted on a separate outstanding parole warrant through the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Upon seeing officers, Robinson fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, P.O.P. Unit members and patrol officers apprehended Robinson approximately five minutes later without incident as he attempted to hide in a nearby tree line.
Robinson was taken into custody and transported to the Public Safety Building for processing. The Danville Police Department continues to investigate this incident. In collaboration with the Vermilion County States Attorney’s Office, Trevon M. Lake, 30 years old, of Danville, Illinois was booked on charges of First-Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon regarding this shooting incident. Lake was originally being held on preliminary charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
Danville Police Investigate Fatal Shooting
Danville, IL — On November 29, 2025, at approximately 1:26 a.m., Danville Police officers were dispatched to Scooters Bar, located at 1114 E. Voorhees Street, in response to a report of shots fired. While en route, officers were advised that a shooting victim remained on scene.
