THE FOLLOWING IS A HYSTER-YALE MATERIALS HANDLING RELEASE
Danville, Illinois – Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. (HYMH) has announced plans to transition operations from its Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in Danville, Illinois, to a larger, modern facility in Avon, Indiana. This new facility will become HYMH’s Customer and Parts Solutions Center, a hub designed to elevate customer engagement and service while modernizing the company’s North American aftersales and parts distribution operations.
The new facility will allow for the consolidation of outsourced shipping and packaging operations, streamlined processes, enhanced operational efficiency, and reduced supply chain complexity. As the Customer and Parts Solutions Center, it will also serve as a premier destination for customers, showcasing HYMH’s aftermarket parts,
services and equipment in a working operation, hosting live demonstrations, and providing training and support.
“This investment reflects our long-term commitment to modernizing our infrastructure and transforming how we deliver parts and service globally,” stated Brett Schemerhorn, President of Aftersales at HYMH. “The Customer and Parts Solutions Center will provide us the opportunity to create an interactive experience for customers and dealers and position our company for future growth.”
After more than 50 years in operation, the current facility no longer aligns with the scale and complexity required for the company’s evolving needs. A phased transition will be completed by Fall 2026, and the Danville PDC location will close at the end of the year. The project is contingent upon successful approvals by the Town of Avon,
Hendricks County and the State of Indiana.
“We are grateful for the longstanding partnership and support of the Danville community. While the decision to move was difficult, we believe this is the right decision for the future of our operations,” said Tom Hashimoto, Director, Parts Operations.
Hashimoto added, “Danville has been an important part of HYMH’s history. We sincerely appreciate the dedication and contributions of every team member and remain committed to providing the appropriate resources and support to employees throughout this transition.”
