People v. Curtis Lake 2025-CF-76
On December 15, 2025, Curtis Lake (DOB: 7/5/1978), formerly of Danville, Illinois, pleaded guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver for a sentence of 8 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Following his term of imprisonment, Lake will serve 18 months of mandatory supervised release. The plea and sentencing hearing were presided over by Judge Mark S. Goodwin.
The People presented evidence that on February 2, 2025, an officer with the Danville Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a man riding a bicycle and acting suspiciously. The officer activated his emergency lights, but the man continued riding away. He was quickly apprehended and identified as Curtis Lake. Lake was found to be in possession of 20 grams of methamphetamine, which he admitted to police he was transporting to another person.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy said, “This sentence sends a clear message that drug trafficking has no place in our community. I would like to thank the Danville Police Department for their dedication to removing illegal drugs from our streets, and for their work with my office to hold criminals accountable.”
