{AUDIO: “On Saturday from 10 til 4 we’re going to have just an open house for the Center Building for people who want to come and see this building, and also the special exhibit – The Illinois Underground Railroad — exhibit that we have at this time. And at the same time, they will be able to look at the posters that we have gotten in for our Lincoln birthday.”}

On Sunday the Vermilion County Museum will have an open house to celebrate Abraham Lincoln’s birthday…
{AUDIO: “This year is Lincoln’s 217th birthday, so Vermilion County students were charged with making a poster announcing his birthday. They were supposed to have something relating to Lincoln on it and some sort of quote or saying that he had said.”}
There are 334 birthday cards on display at the museum which were made by fourth and fifth grade students from across the county. They will be on display the rest of this month.
On Saturday only the Vermilion County Museum Center building will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p. m. On Sunday, when the museum celebrates Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, both the Museum Center building and the Fithian Home (in front of the Museum Center building) will be open from 1:30 until 4:00 p.m. with free admission.
