We’re thrilled to announce that the Vermilion County Department of Animal Regulation and Shelter has received a 2026 Rachael Ray Save Them All Grant from Best Friends Animal Society!

These funds will allow us to expand our Playgroups Save Lives program, helping save an estimated 169 additional dogs in 2026. This project will be truly transformative, improving dogs’ behavioral well-being while increasing lifesaving outcomes.
The grant will fund the construction of a secure 0.25-acre fenced play yard with equipment dedicated to daily playgroups, adoption and foster meet-and-greets, and training sessions. This new space will give dogs a safe place to play, learn, decompress, and shine… boosting confidence and adoptability along the way.
Thank you for supporting our lifesaving work in Vermilion County!
