DANVILLE — Danville District 118 Superintendent John Hart on Monday morning addressed a fight that occurred Friday at North Ridge Middle School that received social media attention during the weekend.
In Hart’s memo to North Ridge parents and guardians, he stated the incident happened as students exited the building during dismissal.
Hart said no students sustained physical injuries during the altercation, and “involvement in such behavior will not be tolerated. Students who participated in or contributed to the incident will receive disciplinary consequences in accordance with district policy.”
“An altercation took place in one of the hallways and we are currently reviewing video footage to identify all students involved. Although cell phones are not permitted during the school day, students had already retrieved their phones from their Yondr pouches at dismissal, which allowed some individuals to record portions of the incident,” according to Hart.
