An Iroquois County man has been arrested on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder in a fatal fire. Christopher Burton, 53, of Milford, was arrested without incident and taken to the Iroquois County Jail on Friday (February 27, 2026) according to Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police.
Authorities said Burton’s arrest is the result of an exhaustive investigation into a house fire that claimed the life of 37-year-old Ashley Tucker of Milford.
The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal is assisting in the investigation which is continuing.
