Danville, IL- Vermilion County residents are invited to attend the upcoming Vermilion County Candidate Q&A Forum on Thursday, March 5th at 6:00pm located at the David S. Palmer Arena in Danville, Illinois.
The forum will feature candidates for Vermilion County Sheriff which include Hugh Sands, John Thompson, and Mike Hartshorn. It will also feature two Vermilion County Treasurer candidates Jason Whaling and the incumbent Darren Duncan. The forum will be offering the voters an opportunity to hear directly from those seeking to serve in these key county leadership roles.
This event is being organized by local business owner Jakob Dazey, who is coordinating the forum to provide a transparent, structured, and informative platform for voters ahead of the upcoming primary election. The goal of the forum is to encourage civic engagement and ensure residents have access to clear, direct answers from candidates on issues that matter most to Vermilion County taxpayers.
Questions for the candidates are being submitted in advance by community members through and online form. Selected questions will be presented during the forum to reflect the concerns and priorities of local voters. Questions have also been produced in works with political science majors from outside of Vermilion County, utilizing key information available to the public. Each candidate will be given equal time to respond, ensuring a fair and balanced discussion.
“This forum is about giving Vermilion County residents the opportunity to make informed decisions,” said Dazey. “Open dialogue and accountability are essential to strong local government and I hope the candidates show their ability to produce that for the voters.”
The event is open to the public, and all residents are encouraged to attend. Security screening will be enforced upon entering into the arena.
