It’s March, and that means the City of Danville’s FIRST FRIDAYS event this Friday will be the annual DANVILLE’S GOT TALENT. City of Danville Community Relations Coordinator Lindsey Franz recently joined D102’s Tommy B on “THE BIG SHOW.” Franz mentioned that in a new twist this year, some winners from the past will be returning to face this year’s contestants. And the night will have different stages.
AUDIO: So just a little twist on the event from year’s past, if you’ve attended. But this year, we will have at the first half of the show, some “battle rounds.” So these contestants have practiced together; whether it be dancing, singing, or acting. And they will go head-to-head at the first half of the show, and battle to move forward to the “solo round” at the second half.

It was current Fischer Theatre Executive Director Ashton Greer who started up Danville’s Got Talent while she was Danville’s Community Relations Administrator. Looking back, she told Tommy B on “THE BIG SHOW” that Danville’s Got Talent became her favorite First Friday’s event.
AUDIO: I don’t know; I was a little nervous for it the first year we did it. I didn’t know how it was going to go. And then it turned out to just be such a fun night; and so much talent in this town. And I remember just being blown away the the performers, and just the energy of the room.
Danville’s Got Talent this Friday, March 6th will begin at 6 PM at the Fischer Theatre. You can get your $7 tickets ahead of time by going to fischertheatre.com.
