THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
DANVILLE, IL – On March 5, 2026, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Danville Police were notified by District 118 staff of a possible bomb threat targeting Danville High School. The threat originated from a social media post specifically directed at the school.
Officers immediately began conducting an investigation and requested assistance from the University of Illinois Bomb Squad. The U of I Bomb Squad deployed several bomb detection dogs, and together with Danville Police, they conducted a thorough sweep of the high school both interior and exterior. No explosive devices or suspicious items were found, and the threat was quickly determined to be non-credible.
The Danville Police Department is now actively investigating the origin of the threat and working to identify the individual(s) responsible.
The investigation into this incident continues and no other information is being released at this time.
