Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge! For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6. April 6: Free Lunch & Learn: Synergy Seminar Series. Join us for a free lunch* provided by Synergy HomeCare. This Quarter: Medicare Basics and Q & A with 360 Benefits Group! *RSVP encouraged to guarantee enough food but not required. Signups close at 3 PM the Thursday before each event. April 7: Teen Crafternoons. Tuesdays = your creative time. Hang out and make cool stuff. No sign-up, no stress. Just show up and create something awesome! This week: 3D Succulents – Use crystal gem blocks to build sparkling succulent plants! 3:30 – 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space. Ages 13 – 19.
April 7: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: 3D Pens. Get your tech on while you learn about 3D Pens. Use software to create your own 3D masterpiece! 5:00 PM in the Program Room. Ages 8-12.
April 7: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under – Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the Program Room.
April 8: Celebrate! Join the Children’s Department each month to learn about and celebrate different cultures with stories and food. In honor of Cherry Blossom Month we will share and celebrate Japanese culture. Listen to stories, taste some traditional Japanese foods and take home a party favor. Japanese noodles will most definitely be making an appearance! 5pm-6pm in the Program Room.
April 8: Teen Writing Club. Come write, chill, and connect. No pressure – just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. Journals and pens will be provided for our teen writers, along with writing prompts and snacks to fuel your mind. Every Wednesday, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm in the 2nd Floor Teen Space.
April 8: Ukulele Music Club. Join the Ukulele Music Club every 2nd Wednesday for beginner basics at 5 PM and a group jam session at 6 PM – both welcoming all skill levels! Bring your own uke or borrow one of our limited extras and enjoy making music together. The club may even perform around the community! April 9: ESL Family Group. Join our family-focused support group for those learning English as a second language. Connect with other families, share experiences, and grow your confidence in a safe, friendly space. A partnership with DACC. April 9: Lit Fit with Mandy. Join us Thursdays starting in April for a dance fitness series that’s as fun as your favorite book. All fitness levels welcome. Bring your water bottle and wear clothes that can handle your best moves! 3:00 – 4:00 PM in the Program Room.
April 11: The Mystery of Nancy Drew with Leslie Doddard. Celebrate 90 years of Nancy Drew with historian Leslie Goddard, Ph.D. Explore the history of America’s favorite girl detective. Who was Carolyn Keene, author of the series? Why did this girls’ book series, more than any other, captivate generations of readers? The first 40 attendees will receive a copy of a Nancy Drew Novel and a magnifying glass! 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
April 11: Story Time. Have a great time listening, interacting to stories and making a fun craft! Saturdays at 11:00 AM in the Children’s Department.
Adult/Teen Craft: Stop by the Reference Desk on the 2nd floor for a take & make craft! Starting April 1, Save the Bees with Wildflower Seedlings! While supplies last.
