Danville Police are investigating a weekend shooting in which a young woman was shot in the leg. Police say they responded to a report of shots fired in the 1600 block of Beechwood Drive shortly after 3:30 Sunday (March 29, 2026) morning. When officers arrived they found a 25-year-old Danville woman had suffered a gunshot wound to a leg. The woman was transported to a local hospital to be treated for what police described as a non-life-threatening wound.
Investigators determined that a large crowd had gathered in the 1600 block of Beechwood shortly before the shooting. No suspects have been arrested, and police are continuing to investigate the incident. Police are reviewing available video footage and statements from witnesses.
