The City of Danville’s Planning & Zoning Commission did not have their Thursday evening (April 2nd) due to the lack of a quorum. But Christopher Pickering was their with his family, and spoke with CIMG of the hope he has to rezone the property, and establish a Bible museum at 702 North Logan Avenue, in the former Center for Children’s Services building.
After the meeting was postponed, Pickering explained that the plan is not for a Bible museum where you just look at and read about the past, but a Bible museum where you live the past.
AUDIO: We want to do an immersive Bible museum. Where people who are visiting the museum would find themselves in scenes from the Bible. And not just “the Bible.” We want to do “Old Testament,” “New Testament,” “how we got the Bible.” So how “the canon” was put together. And then also how Christianity spread. So you may find yourself in a room that’s full of monks scribing; or Missions in the Amazon.
A new Planning and Zoning Commission meeting date will likely be set in the near future.
