On March 27th, 33 archers from the the Schlarman Academy Elementary and High School Archery teams qualified for the state finals held in Mattoon at the Emerald Acres Sports Connection. Schlarman had two archers qualify for nationals – one each in the elementary division and high school division.
Kayson Elderts-Ajala placed 5th out of 263 boys in the Elementary Boys Division.
Junior Rebecca Smith placed 2nd out of 288 girls in the High School Girls Division and also earned a $1,000 Scholarship.
Both students now have the chance to compete on May 7th to May 9th at the 2026 Eastern National Bullseye Tournament held at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
