Monday, April 6, 2026- The meeting began with a check presentation for two charitable organizations using funds raised at the Rotary Auction. Patsy Jones with The Dwelling Place and Dee Ann Ryan with Sleep in Heavenly Peace were both in attendance and grateful to receive this assistance from Rotary toward the humanitarian efforts of their organizations.
Next was the announcement of the 2025 Gill Garman Fellowship Award. Known as one of the most memorable fellowship speakers to ever take the podium at the Danville Rotary Club, Mr. Gill Garman was admired for his sharp wit and warm presence, making him a frequently requested speaker and emcee. Because fellowship is a core value of Rotary, this award honors a Rotarian who best embodies those ideals.
This year, the Noon Rotary proudly presented the 2025 Gill Garman Fellowship Award to Mrs. Tonya Hill.

Tonya joined the Danville Rotary Club in 2009, and her membership quickly became a cornerstone of her professional life. Through Rotary, she was able to form many lasting relationships and strengthen her community involvement. Tonya was nominated and selected for this honor in recognition of her long-standing commitment to the Rotary motto of Service Above Self. Justice Rita B. Garman (Ret.) attended the ceremony to present the award, noting: “Tonya has held every office and has been involved in every Rotary community service project. She is a true example of what Rotary stands for.” Tonya recently served as club President from 2024–25. Her dedication, leadership, and spirit of fellowship continue to inspire those around her.
Rick Rotramel reminded the group that flags for the 2026 Memorial Way Project are on sale for $5 each. Corporate sponsorships are also available. Proceeds from the flag sales support Rotary community service projects and provide scholarships for veterans and their families. Flags can be purchased through May 18, 2026 at https://rotaryflag.com.
Noon Rotary meets the first Monday of every month at 12 pm at WorkSource Enterprises. All are welcome and encouraged to join.
