2026 Hoopla Reading Challenge: Join Hoopla’s year-long challenge! Each month, explore a new curated collection of books, audiobooks, and comics on Hoopla, then pick one (or more!) to enjoy. Mixtape: The Books That Shaped Mychal ThreetsReading Challenge. Join us on Beanstack April 1 – May 31, in celebration of National Library Week’s theme, Find Your Joy. Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge! For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6. April 28: Teen Crafternoons. Tuesdays = your creative time. Hang out and make cool stuff. No sign-up, no stress. Just show up and create something awesome! This week: Air-Dry Clay – Pick an inspiration kit and shape, sculpt, and set your ideas to life! 3:30 – 4:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space. Ages 13 – 19.
April 28: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: Nailed it! Inspired by the Netflix TV series, tweens will be presented with a craft and supplies, but no instructions! 5:00 PM in the Program Room. Ages 8-12.
April 28: Teen Universal Yums. Ready to snack your way around the world? Each month, teens can explore a different country through its unique treats, fun trivia, and music from that culture. This month: Japan! It’s a flavorful, interactive experience you won’t want to miss! 4:30 – 5:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Teen Space. Ages 13 – 19.
April 28: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under – Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the Program Room.
April 29: Open Mic Poetry and Performance Night. Celebrate National Poetry Month with us at our Open Mic! Whether you’re a seasoned poet, musician, or a first-time performer, this is your chance to shine. Come share your words, listen to others, and be inspired by the power of poetry, lyrics, music, and more. Please note: Everyone is welcome, though some topics may be sensitive for younger audiences. 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room.
April 29: Teen Writing Club. Come write, chill, and connect. No pressure – just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. Journals and pens will be provided for our teen writers, along with writing prompts and snacks to fuel your mind. Every Wednesday, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm in the 2nd Floor Teen Space.
April 30: Lit Fit with Mandy. Join us Thursdays starting in April for a dance fitness series that’s as fun as your favorite book. All fitness levels welcome. Bring your water bottle and wear clothes that can handle your best moves! 3:00 – 4:00 PM in the Program Room.
May 2: CREATE. Join us on the first Saturday of each month for CREATE! Mother’s Day is on the way! It’s time to make a tasty cookie and tea bouquet for someone you love. Only 20 spots available; sign up on our website! 1:00 PM in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room. Ages 5-12
May 2: Diamond Painting Craft Club. Treat yourself to some creative time the 1st Saturday of Every Month! Enjoy different themes and styles to diamond paint and enjoy a calm, relaxing afternoon of crafting. This month’s theme: May Flowers!Space is limited. May 2:Grady Hendrix Book Club. Calling All Horror Readers! Join us the 1st Saturday of every month as we alternate between discussing the works of Grady Hendrix and Stephen King! This month: We’ll be discussing: My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix. 11 AM – 12 PM in the Program Room.
May 2: Senior Social Hour. Seniors, join us on the first Saturday of every month, for a chance to have coffee and play games together. 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
May 2: Story Time. Have a great time listening, interacting to stories and making a fun craft! Saturdays at 11:00 AM in the Children’s Department.

Coloring Contest for all ages: Color a picture and win a prize. Return entries by the end of the month. Entries will be displayed in the Children’s Room. Winners will be notified.
