The FBI office in Springfield has confirmed coordinated efforts in Danville and Vermilion County to combat violent crime and drug activity; with involvement from local, state, and federal law enforcement partners. Eyewitnesses have reported to CIMG activity seen in Danville near Conron and Vermilion, in Danville on Tennessee Avenue, and in the southern area of Westville.
THE FOLLOWING IS A STATEMENT FROM THE SPRINGFIELD, IL FBI OFFICE
“FBI Springfield Field Office as well as local, state, and federal law enforcement partners are conducting court authorized activity in the Danville, Illinois area, to include arrests and searches. This event is part of a coordinated effort to combat violent crime and drug activity. There will be a press release issued later in the week with more details. Due to the operation size and requirements, there will be no further comment at this time.”
