Friday afternoon, less than a half-hour after Kennekuk County Park opened its gates for Balloons Over Vermilion fans for the very first time, two ladies already had their seats right up next to the area roped off for the balloon flights. They’ve been watching the flights ever since the Balloon Classic days. And now, Michele Sheppard and Rebecca Bates were holding down the fort until the rest of the family got there.
