OAKWOOD — The Oakwood school board has approved a bond sale for a proposed athletics facility, and Superintendent Andy Jordan said officials hope to start construction by November.
The board passed the resolution Tuesday night at a meeting that lasted just over an hour.
There were seven public comments: two in favor of the resolution and five with concerns, including about possible tax increases.
Jordan said the district is looking at a 10-year repayment plan for the bond, which would allow it to keep its property-tax rate the same.
The proposal calls for the sale of bonds in an amount not to exceed $9 million for an athletic project that would include new baseball, softball, track and football facilities, as well as a track and concession stand with bathrooms and locker rooms.
