Republican Gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey is trying to reverse the results of four years ago, as he once again faces Democratic incumbent J.B. Pritzker in the November election. As the keynote speaker at Sunday night’s Vermilion County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner at Danville’s Palmer Arena, Bailey told CIMG that his Sunday evening message needs to work like a Sunday morning sermon.
AUDIO: Well, it’s a Sunday. And it’s kind of the same mission that we have when we go to church. It’s to replicate; duplicate voters. That’s what we’ve got to do; as far as a party, as far as concerned citizens for Illinois. We’re losing our freedoms. We can’t afford to live here. It’s not safe; our schools are failing. So get out. Make sure you are registered to vote. Please show up to vote.

Bailey added forget about the results of the election four years ago. This, Darren Baileys says, needs to be a new beginning for the state of Illinois.

104th District State Rep Brandun Schweizer emphasized while he was speaking that he won his election in 2024 by 269 votes out of 46,000 votes cast; and Bailey hammered home his point that although things looked even for him in many polls in 2022, the voter turnout was a huge disappointment, and that’s what must change.
