Danville Public Library Director Christopher Leggins and his staff received the good news earlier this month that the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office was sending over $49,000 to the Danville Library this year; about $6,000 more than last year’s amount.
Leggins says this will indeed get some planned projects moving a little quicker.
AUDIO: It’s going to help us provide quality services for our library moving forward. We’ve got some important capital improvement projects that we’re working on; and we’re looking to update our collection as well. We’re looking to grow our teens collection, and animating our graphic novels also. So it’s just helping us provide a little bit more quality service to our community.
Rest room renovations at the Danville Public Library are in the planning stage. And we should also mention that this Friday, July 24th; and this will bring back lots of memories for many who grew up in Danville; the Danville Public Library’s new Bookmobile will make it’s debut, 9:30 to 11:30 Friday morning in Winter Park. Leggins says come on out to see the bookmobile’s collection, and get a library card made if you need one.
