Danville, IL – The Danville Area Community College Foundation celebrated the generosity of its donors and the achievements of DACC students during its annual Honors Day program.
For the 2026-27 academic year, the DACC Foundation awarded 1,001 scholarships valued at $1,276,873, providing critical financial support to students as they pursue their educational and career goals. This marks the sixth year in a row that every student who applied and attended DACC received a scholarship.
The annual Honors Day program brings scholarship recipients and the donors who support them together in DACC’s Mary Miller Gymnasium. The event gives students an opportunity to meet and personally thank the individuals, families, businesses, and organizations whose generosity helps make their education possible.
“Every year, I walk into Honors Day and wonder how we could possibly make it any more special, and every year, our students, donors and community find a way,” said DACC Foundation Executive Director Tonya Hill. “There is nothing quite like seeing our students meet the donors who have chosen to invest in their education and their future. You can see the gratitude on our students’ faces, but you can also see how much it means to our donors to meet the students whose lives they are helping change. A scholarship is so much more than financial assistance. It is encouragement, opportunity and a reminder to our students that someone believes in them and believes their dreams are worth investing in. I am incredibly proud to be part of a Foundation and a community that continues to make those opportunities possible.”
Honors Day also provides an opportunity to recognize the donors whose continued support makes the scholarship program possible. Scholarships have been established by individuals, families, businesses, organizations, alumni, and friends of the College, often in honor or memory of people who have made a lasting impact on their lives and the community.
“Our donors are changing lives,” Hill added. “Their generosity can be the difference between a student wondering if college is financially possible and that student walking across the stage with a degree or certificate. Honors Day gives us the chance to celebrate those connections and say thank you.”
