The Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee’s scholarship application is now available at local high schools in Danville. To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a 2027 high school graduating senior at a local high school in Danville who plans to pursue his/her education at an institution of higher learning.
The selection of the scholarship recipient by the MLK Committee is not based on any racial, religious, ethnic, or cultural affiliation. Therefore, students who meet the criteria listed in the scholarship application are encouraged to apply.
Applications for the scholarship will only be accepted on Wednesday, December 2, 2026, between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:30 pm at St. James United Methodist Church, 504 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, Illinois. The recipient of the scholarship will be announced at the MLK Celebration in January.
