Mission K9 Warrior is having their annual EXCLUSIVE enter; Saturday, October 17th in the Catlin Banquet Center at 109 South Sandusky. You can learn all about how Mission K9 Warrior provides service dogs to eligible combat Veterans. But when Neal and Lee Ann Stephens recently joined Tommy B on D102’s The Big Show; Lee Ann explained that THIS YEAR, those who attend the EXCLUSIVE won’t be hearing stories from the Veterans themselves, but from their loved ones.
AUDIO: The spouse of the service member that has the dog is able to speak their side of what it is; what the service member has gone through. How it’s changed them. How it’s made them more acceptable to the community, going outdoors; just kind of giving life experience.
As Neal Stephens explained, it was not until he was out of the military that he realized THE NEED for K9 service dogs.
AUDIO: Twenty-one years in uniform, and I’d didn’t realize a lot of this stuff was happening. And then, once I get out, and I don’t have that uniform on anymore, and I’m by myself; then it started coming out, and getting worse and worse as the days went by. We got lucky enough to find Mission K9, and end up with a service animal. And like my life was saying; the rest if history, and it really changed a lot in our lives.
