THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On October 20, 2026, at approximately 1:16 p.m., officers with the Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 900 block of Timberline Drive.
The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was identified as 20-year-old, Delante Martin, of Danville.
Officers had charges on Martin stemming from a 2025 Danville Police firearms case. Officers placed Martin into custody. While searching Martin, officers located a loaded firearm concealed in Martin’s waist area.
Martin was transported to the Vermilion County Jail and booked on 2 separate counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. One count from the case in 2025 and one count for the additional firearm located taking Martin into custody.
No further information will be released at this time.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
