THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Nov. 5, 2026 – On November 5, 2026, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Danville Police officers were dispatched to the Memorial Bridge, located in the unit block of S. Gilbert Street, after 9-1-1 received multiple calls reporting a female standing on or climbing over the bridge railing with concerns she may attempt to jump.
Upon arrival, responding officers contacted the female and worked to bring the situation to a safe resolution.
The female eventually climbed back over the railing and was safely assisted by officers. There were no injuries to anyone on scene.
The female was subsequently transported for further assistance and evaluation. The Danville Police Department appreciates the members of the community who promptly contacted 9-1-1 and reported the situation. Their actions allowed officers to respond and provide immediate assistance.
