THE FOLLOWING IS A DOWNTOWN DANVILLE INC RELEASE
Danville, IL —November 6, 2026 — Downtown Danville Inc invites residents, businesses, and community organizations to support local entrepreneurs throughout Small Business Season, November 1 through December 31, 2026. This year’s theme, “It’s the Thought That Counts,” celebrates the care behind local businesses and the ways a thoughtful action can connect them with new customers and opportunities.
Local businesses help make the holidays special, from preparing meals and finding meaningful gifts to providing services that make busy days easier. They also create jobs, contribute to the character of Danville, and support the organizations and causes that neighbors care about.
“Our community blooms at Christmas. There’s something endearing about twinkling lights and big grins and our small businesses are behind so much of that. A recommendation, a review, or a purchase can introduce someone to a business they might otherwise never discover. Small Business Season gives us a chance to recognize the people behind those businesses and put our support into action,” said Kim Kuchenbrod, Executive Director, Downtown Danville Inc
Throughout the season, Downtown Danville Inc will promote downtown small businesses, events, activities, and promotions. Residents can find details on the organization’s social media site at https://www.facebook.com/downtowndanvilleil.
Supporting small businesses can take many forms. Share a business’s post, recommend a favorite to a friend, write an honest review based on your experience, or thank a local owner or employee. When making a planned purchase or looking for a service, consider a local option that fits your needs and budget.

About Small Business Season
Small Business Season started with one simple belief: small businesses deserve more than a moment. They deserve a season of support. What began as a vision in 2008 grew into a movement in 2020, when communities rallied to keep small businesses alive during a global crisis. Chambers of commerce led by proving the power of local support when it mattered most.
Today, Small Business Season continues its mission — equipping chambers with tools to spotlight local businesses, inspire consumers, and unite communities. Each year, more chambers join in, more businesses thrive, and more consumers choose to shop with meaning. From purchases and referrals to reviews and words of encouragement, Small Business Season celebrates the many ways the community can help the people who are thought of as the “backbone of the community” feel that way.
