The Vermilion County Health Department and Rita B., Garman Vermilion County Courthouse remain open to the public for essential needs. But some other Vermilion County offices remain closed by means of public access until further notice due to the declaration of a public health emergency.
Presiding Judge Thomas O’Shaughnessy announced last week that many civil and criminal cases in Vermilion County would be postponed through Friday, April 17, 2020. He said essential proceedings would still occur.
Vermilion County Board Chairman Larry Baughn Jr. says the Vermilion County Administration Building at 201 North Vermilion Street in Danville, and Vermilion County Animal Shelter on the Catlin-Tilton Road remain closed to public access until further notice. The Vermilion County Highway Department office on Batestown Road, and the County Coroner and Veterans Assistance Commission Offices at 123 North Hazel Street, also remain closed. Anyone needing to contact the Coroner’s office may do so, however, by phoning the office.
