The Danville District 118 School Board has approved the It Takes a Village Mentorship for North Ridge Middle School this school year, at a cost of $20,000. After the vote at Wednesday (Aug 14th) evening’s meeting, Mosaic City Church Pastor LeStan Hoskins stated that he and his wife Jennifer will be bringing similar programs they brought South View students last year, to a lot of those same students at North Ridge this year.
AUDIO: So we’re going to be doing the same thing we did last year. Just mentoring students; spending time one-on-one. We’re looking forward to the leadership conference, and we’re just looking forward to just partnering with the staff, the principal; and to help the students thrive and be the best they can be.

Principal Michael Gourley says he’s glad to have Pastor LeStan and Jennifer on the North Ridge team.
AUDIO: The fact that they are coming up from South View to North Ridge, that’s a difficult transition for our students when they come from 6th to 7th. Changing buildings, a lot of freedoms that they don’t have necessarily at South View.
Also at Wednesday evening’s meeting, Danville High School graduate Colette Hampton was introduced as the new North Ridge Middle School assistant principal.
