An investigation continues into a weekend fire which left extensive damage to a house in the Home Gardens area, south of Danville. Volunteer firefighters from Westville, Georgetown, Catlin, and the Lynch Area Fire Protection District responded to the blaze on East Forest Avenue late Friday.
No injuries were reported, and although flames and smoke were coming from the rear of the home, the fire was quickly brought under control. Firefighters were on the scene for over two hours, however.
The Illinois State Fire Marshall is assisting in determining what caused the blaze.
