As the nationwide threat from COVID-19 lingers, employees at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville are getting high marks. Shawn Bransky is the Executive Director of the local VA…
{‘’I tell you, (it’s) just an amazing group of professionals. They come in here every day, and they face their own fears. But they’re here to take care of our Veterans. I’m so proud of the work they do,’’ said Bransky on WDAN Radio’s Newsmakers program.}
Bransky says the VA has been looking at its surge capacity in the event other community resources are overwhelmed by the pandemic….
{‘’We have a community living center – about 30 beds that are currently empty in a ward that we were going to renovate. And it’s still functional and it’s still functional and it’s still very capable so that would be one example of a capability that we have if we need it.’’}
The VA earlier restricted visitors but Bransky says if a caregiver is helping a veteran get to an appointment the caregiver will be allowed onto the campus. However everyone entering VA property will be screened.
