At the conclusion of this week, an era will come to an end on 1490 WDAN when Laura Williams hosts her final episode of “Community Connection.” She says it’s been wonderful to do so many interviews with people and organizations in Danville and Vermilion County, but it was time to step back just a bit.
AUDIO: I loved doing the show. But you’re right, it became a little bit too much. My daughter and her family moved here several years ago. And so helping out with the boys, and doing lots of other things to help their family; and help myself and my health journey, I just felt I had to step back from something. Absolutely loved it, I wanted to make sure that the non-profits had a voice.
But fear not, Laura Williams’ voice will continue to be heard on 1490 WDAN and vermilioncountyfirst.com; with her weekly Danville Area Community College program.
AUDIO: I have a huge passion for Danville Area Community College. It basically paid the way for my family to have a great life, and I just have the deepest respect for the people that work there. I consider the people that I’ve worked with the “second generation,” and I just really have an obligation to make sure it gets all the publicity it can get.
Laura’s final Community Connection guest; on the Friday, September 6th program; will be the East Central Illinois Community Action Agency.
