THE FOLLOWING RELEASE IS FROM STATE REP NIEMERG’S OFFICE
Teutopolis, IL… State Representatives Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) and Brandun Schweizer (R-Danville) are co-hosting a Medicare 101 event with the Illinois Department on Aging’s Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP), on September 12th from 10 a.m-11:30 a.m. at the Georgetown Fair Banquet and Convention Center, 413 N. Seminary St., Georgetown.
“Seniors have stopped by my information table at county fairs this summer saying they have heard there are changes with Medicare and they want to learn more about those changes,” commented Rep. Niemerg. “Generally, Medicare is for people 65 or older, but you may be able to get coverage earlier if you have a disability, End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant), or ALS (also called Lou Gehrig’s disease).”
The Medicare 101 Seminar is a free event hosted by experts on SHIP from the Department on Aging. SHIP is a free statewide health insurance counseling service for those with Medicare and their caretakers. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about Medicare, ask questions, and receive insight and guidance on the many facets of Medicare.
The event is open to anyone wanting to learn more about Medicare. Seniors and their caretakers are encouraged to bring any questions they may have regarding Medicare. No RSVPs are required.
If residents have questions, they may contact Rep. Niemerg’s office at (217) 813-6036 or visit RepNiemerg.com
