The 35th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony has been rescheduled for November 7th at Cleveland's Public Hall, with the event airing live on HBO at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The festivities were originally scheduled to take place on May 2nd, but due to the concerns regarding the coronavirus, action was swiftly taken to find a new date further down the line. This the first time in the history of the Hall of Fame that a ceremony has been rescheduled.
This year's class of inductees includes Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, T. Rex, Whitney Houston and the Notorious B.I.G. Bruce Springsteen's manager and producer Jon Landau, along with music mogul and Eagles manager Irving Azoff, will both receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
NIN main man Trent Reznor told Rolling Stone he was “pretty freaked out” about being inducted, saying, “When I look back at how Nine Inch Nails are received, it always seems like we fall between the cracks or we’re not in this category or 'that thing' . . . I’m pleasantly surprised to see us acknowledged. It feels pretty good.”
Reznor and NIN partner Atticus Ross were scheduled to speak this month at the now-canceled South By Southwest media and music conference. The duo hope to release new music later in 2020.
