The Vermilion County Farm Bureau’s Tom Fricke has told CIMG that he expects substantial harvesting work to be happening in Vermilion County in about two weeks, though it is not expected to be widespread at first due to some late planting that occurred this year due to spring flooding issues.
Fricke also stated that August was an “ideal month” for the soybeans’ “fill the pods” month; as the weather was very mild most of the way, followed by one last burst of intense heat at the end. He says now it’s just time to “bring it into the bin.”
