THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION COUNTY STATE’S ATTORNEY’S OFFICE RELEASE
On September 11, 2024, Andrew Sanchez (DOB 11/7/1989), formerly of Danville, Illinois, was sentenced by Judge Mark Goodwin to the Illinois Department of Corrections for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver for 7 years, and for Unlawful Possession of Weapon by Felon for 5 years. Sentences will be served concurrently and will be followed by 6 months of mandatory supervised release.
The People presented evidence to the Court that on December 30, 2020, a search warrant was conducted by Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group agents on the residence of Andrew Sanchez. As officers were arriving to execute the search warrant, Sanchez was observed
driving away from the residence. Once inside the residence, special agents with the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group located a safe that contained 806.4 grams of cannabis, United States Currency, firearms, firearm ammunition, an empty gun case, a bulletproof vest and
drug paraphernalia, as well as a receipt for the safe being purchased by Andrew Sanchez.
