Monday, September 16, 2024- Danville Noon Rotary welcomed 2024-25 District Governor Michael “Mike” Martin, Rotary District 6490. Mike reminded the group of Rotary’s mission to improve the world through service. He discussed international trips where they painted school buildings and distributed filters to provide clean drinking water. He stated that, “mankind is our business and what we do should reflect the mission of promoting peace, goodwill and understanding through service to others”. As a Rotarian, it is important to keep people engaged in what you are doing, focus on growing membership, identify interesting service projects and be willing to adapt to generational changes. Rotary should resemble a cross section of your community in which everyone feels welcome and encouraged to be part of. Mike presented the “Governor’s Magic Wand” to Terri Cummings and thanked her for her ongoing service to Rotary.
Danville Noon Rotary’s next meeting is Monday, September 23 at WorkSource Enterprises, 3713 N. Vermilion St Danville, IL. Guest speaker will be Daniel Martorana to speak on Thats What Teens Say. Danville Noon Rotary would like to welcome everyone!
